Bishop Dies Following Alleged Machete Attack: St. Catherine police are awaiting a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death for a popular bishop who collapsed and died minutes after he allegedly used a machete to chop his wife during a dispute at their home on Burke Road, Old Harbour, St. Catherine.
The deceased has been identified as 57-year-old Bishop Kenneth Washington, also of Burke Road, Old Harbour.
Reports indicate that shortly after 10:00 PM, Washington, who served as a bishop at his wife’s church in Old Harbour, had just returned home from church when an argument developed between him and his wife over a computer.
Further reports state that the wife pleaded the blood of Jesus against her bishop husband, who became enraged, picked up a machete, and allegedly chopped her on the hand.
Washington then rushed outside the house where he collapsed. His wife raised an alarm, and Washington was transported to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
