St Ann Lifeguard Dies in Motorcycle Collision

ST ANN, Jamaica — A 38-year-old lifeguard from Mile End in Ocho Rios, St Ann, died on Sunday following a motor vehicle collision along the Lodge main road in the parish.

The deceased has been identified as Kemar Salmon.

According to the Ocho Rios Traffic Department, the incident occurred around 11:15 a.m. while Salmon was riding his bicycle towards the Lodge main road from his community. It is alleged that Salmon failed to keep to his lane and collided head-on with a red Honda motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction.

The impact of the crash threw both men from their respective vehicles. Emergency services were alerted and both injured parties were taken to the hospital, where Salmon was pronounced dead on arrival.

The condition of the other man involved in the crash has not yet been disclosed.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
