St Andrew Man Charged Following Major Firearms Bust

Police have formally charged 38-year-old Lamar Douglas, also known as ‘Joe’, from Patrick City, St Andrew, in connection with the seizure of 14 illegal firearms and 57 rounds of ammunition last Wednesday.

Douglas now faces 19 charges, including possession, dealing, trafficking, and stockpiling of prohibited weapons, as well as conspiracy to commit each of those offences.

The weapons cache was discovered during a targeted police operation on Deeside Avenue on Wednesday, May 28. Officers from the Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division reportedly uncovered 14 guns, 12 magazines, and 57 rounds of ammunition during the search.

Douglas, who was already on bail for an unrelated matter, was taken into custody following the discovery. Authorities have confirmed that another individual, believed to be connected to the case, escaped during the operation and is currently being sought.
