St. Andrew and Portmore Missionary are All Island Table Tennis Champions

Jamaica Sports News, St Catherine: Jamaica Defending champions St. Andrew and Portmore Missionary prep schools, are the Milo Table Tennis Jamaica Champion of Champions for the boys and girls titles respectively.

In the Sports playoffs which took place at the Excelsior High School auditorium, St. Andrew, came up against primary school champions St.Mary’s all age, who proved to be no match for their prep school counterparts and were beaten 3-love. Joshua Moore, Jayden Ebanks and Brian Blake were the players who registered easy wins.

In the girls section, St. Mary’s All Age who were the pre-tournament favourites, were pleasantly surprised by Portmore Missionary Prep. who dismissed them 3-1.

Zahar Murphy,Navaen Scott and Gabrielle Mclean were victorious for the champions, while St Mary’s All Age consolation came courtesy of Shamoy Lamont, the National “Under 13” girls primary school singles champion, she defeated Navaen Scott 3 sets to 2.

The competition now in its second year, involves the champion primary school meeting the champion prep school, to decide the national champion of champions, for both boys and girls.
