Spanish Town Hospital Will Soon Be Type A

St Catherine, Jamaica (McKoy’s News)- Spanish Town Hospital Will Soon Be Type ADr. Christopher Tufton , Minister of Health, has signed a contract with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), aiming  to upgrade the Spanish Town Hospital from a Type B to a Type A hospital.

 

Type B hospitals provide primary and secondary healthcare services. These services include General Surgery, General Medicine, In-patient and Out-patient services and Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as pediatrics and anesthetics.  Type A hospitals provide both Secondary and Tertiary services,  and are final referral points.

 

Needless to say all residents and patients are looking forward to this being implemented.
