Kingston, Jamaica – A 20-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his father following a brutal stabbing incident in Kingston on Saturday afternoon.
Jerry-Neol Dixon, also known as ‘Ojay,’ of Goodwin Park Road in St Andrew, has been charged with the murder of his father, 53-year-old Sean Dixon, a labourer of Price Lane in Kingston.
According to reports from the Kingston Central Police, the incident occurred around 12:25 p.m. Sean Dixon was resting in his motor vehicle at his home when Jerry-Neol allegedly attacked him, wielding a knife. The younger Dixon inflicted multiple stab wounds to his father’s upper body before fleeing the scene on foot.
The wounded man was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Hours later, Jerry-Neol Dixon turned himself in to the police. He was taken into custody and subsequently charged following a formal question-and-answer session conducted in the presence of his attorney.
Authorities have not yet confirmed a court date for the accused as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the deadly attack.
