As Skillibeng gears up for the release of his debut EP, Crocodile Teeth, producer of the project Johnny Wonder, took the timeout to share some details about the forthcoming project.
-TELL US ABOUT THE PRODUCTION OF THE ALBUM
Ans: Me and Adde have six songs on it, Eastsyde Records have four plus other producers. There are a number of collabs on the album. There’s Spice on it, Rappers Bobby Shmurda, Rich The Kid, Stefflon Don, Davianah ,Popcaan, Lil Zak. So it’s pretty rounded you know.
-WHAT WAS THE IDEA BEHIND PUTTING TOGETHER THIS ALBUM?
Ans: He came to me and said he wanted to do an album. Like I’ve worked with a lot of record companies so i just rolled this one out like that…you know, it’s a hot album with 12 unreleased songs. These songs have never been out and there are videos being done for every song on the project. Also, there’s a lot of record labels interested in the project.
-WHICH RECORD LABELS ARE INTERESTED IN THE PROJECT?
Ans: hmmmm you’ll never hear that from my mouth (laughs)
WHAT IS IT ABOUT SKILLIBENG THAT HAS CONTRIBUTED TO HIS FAST RISE IN THE INDUSTRY?
Ans: He has everything, he’s fully rounded, he has songs for every situation. I just hope this album will do the numbers. I think this album is a big project for dancehall and we just hope the roll out goes well and big up to everybody involved.
Crocodile Teeth The Album is set for release Oct. 15.
