Manchester, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – A quiet Thursday afternoon in Old England, Epping Forest, turned grim after the discovery of skeletal remains suspected to be that of Chrisanta Brown, a 29-year-old entrepreneur originally from St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Brown, who had been missing since October 2024, was last seen in Jamaica under unclear circumstances, and her disappearance sparked concern both locally and abroad.
Around 12:05 p.m., police were alerted to a dilapidated one-room structure tucked away in the rural Manchester community. Upon arrival, lawmen made the chilling discovery — skeletal remains lying within the building.
The scene was immediately cordoned off and processed by forensic teams. The remains were later removed for a post-mortem examination, which investigators hope will confirm the identity and offer clues into the cause of death.
A Woman Gone Without a Trace
Brown, who was reportedly building her entrepreneurial brand between Jamaica and the Eastern Caribbean, had vanished without a trace nearly a year ago. Friends and family had mounted quiet search efforts, and there were unconfirmed reports that she was seen in various parts of central Jamaica prior to her disappearance.
The case has since taken a sharp turn with this week’s shocking discovery.
Investigation Ongoing
The Mandeville Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) is now leading the probe. While police are awaiting official identification of the remains, early leads suggest the timing and physical indicators point strongly to the missing woman.
Residents in the Epping Forest area say they were unaware anyone was occupying the structure, which has reportedly been abandoned for some time.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen Brown in the weeks or months leading up to her disappearance, or who noticed suspicious activity in the Old England area, to come forward.
