Shotgun, Ballistic Vest and 18 Rounds of Ammunition Seized in St Mary

Jamaica Crime News, St Mary: The St Mary police on Friday morning,  May 25, seized one shotgun, a ballistic vest and 18 assorted rounds of ammunition during an operation carried out at a premises in Gibraltar District.

The police say two men were taken into custody in connection with the seizure, but they are unable to release their identities at this time.

Reports by the Port Maria Police are that a team of officers carried out an operation at a premises in Gibraltar District about 5:00 a.m. on Friday. During the operation, a house was searched and a Mossberg 12 Gauge shotgun along with eighteen assorted rounds were seized.

The ammunition seized were six .38 rounds, three .380 rounds, four 9mm rounds and five 12 Gauge rounds.

A Ballistic vest along with a ski mask, several celluar phones and tablets were also seized.

The men who were at the premises were taken into custody and are now waiting to be interviewed in the presence of their lawyers before criminal charges are laid against them.
