An emergency situation unfolded on Wednesday at a business process outsourcing facility on Orange Street in downtown Kingston, where multiple employees reportedly collapsed and required medical attention.
Information indicates that at least seven workers at Fusion BPO were taken to hospital after fainting inside the building. The incident is believed to be linked to a chemical substance used during cleaning activities at the location.
When reporters arrived at the scene, a large number of employees had gathered across the street after being instructed to leave the premises. The evacuation was carried out as a precaution following the incident.
Units from the Jamaica Fire Brigade responded promptly and were observed conducting operations at the site.
Efforts to obtain comments from staff members were unsuccessful, as several workers expressed reluctance to speak due to concerns about potential repercussions at their workplace.
Further details surrounding the incident have not yet been disclosed.
