Seven Arrested for Vandalising Internet Cables in Portland

PORTLAND, Jamaica — The swift action of Portland police led to the arrest of seven people on Thursday after they were allegedly caught vandalising and stealing internet cables.

The group — which includes six men and a pregnant woman — reportedly struck on Wednesday night, cutting down wires that connect the communities of Orange Bay and Windsor Castle.

Residents in the area reportedly spotted the suspects in the act and managed to apprehend them before calling the police.

Videos sent to McKoy’s News show officers from the Buff Bay Police Station recovering what appeared to be several hundred metres of the stolen wires.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
