Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Funeral of Sefton Lloyd Lawrence: Popular coach and St James sports coordinator Sefton Lloyd Lawrence was laid to rest on Sunday, August 27, 2017.

The church service was held at the Kingsway Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church located in Pitfour. His body was interred at the Hillview Memorial Gardens in St James.

Lawrence was very popular as a netball coach for the Montego Bay Cricket Club team. He started the under-12 school netball competition sponsored by Levi Rambo Dixon. He also helped to coordinate the Derrick Kellier under-13 netball league and the Arthur Nelson netball competition. His influence in the 90’s attracted a lot of sponsors to the game of netball in the parish.

His health deteriorated in the 2014 season when he was diagnosed with diabetes. He first lost his right toe and then both legs were amputated. This started to affect his kidney which saw him receiving dialysis treatment. He eventually died on August 8, 2017, at the Cornwall Regional Hospital.
