Security Teams Deployed in Canterbury Following Gun Attack on Police Patrol

Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Security Teams Deployed in Canterbury: Several joint Military details have been deployed in the inner city community of Canterbury in Montego Bay, St James following the gun attack on a police party in the area by heavily armed men on Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Reports by the police are that between the hours of 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 9 and 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2017, a team of police officers were carrying out patrols in the Canterbury area when they came under heavy gunfire from men armed with high powered weapons.

It is further disclosed that the officers got pinned down at a section of the community for over an hour and were only able to retreat following the arrival of reinforcement. Luckily none of the officers were hurt but a number received minor bruises while retreating.

Over the past few days two men have been shot and killed in the Canterbury area and another shot and injured.
