Negril, Jamaica – A security officer was brutally attacked and beaten to death while on duty at a nightclub in Negril, Westmoreland.
The deceased has been identified as Ainsworth Tulloch, a 58-year-old former Guardsman security officer who had recently started his own private security company.
According to reports, the incident occurred on the night of Friday, January 17, at a popular night club, where Tulloch and at least two other security officers were on duty. Surveillance footage reportedly shows Tulloch at the main entrance of the nightclub when he was approached by a dreadlocked man wearing a white T-shirt.
After a brief conversation, the suspect allegedly shoved Tulloch, sparking a violent altercation. The attacker was soon joined by several other individuals, who proceeded to punch, kick, and strike Tulloch with a stool, beating him unconscious. The severity of the attack left Tulloch in critical condition, and he was rushed to the hospital, where he remained in a coma.
Sadly, on Tuesday, February 11, Tulloch succumbed to his injuries. Despite the brutality of the assault, none of the attackers have been arrested or questioned by the police, according to sources close to the investigation.
The lack of legal action has sparked outrage among community members, who are calling for justice. “It is unacceptable that those responsible for this vicious attack are still walking free,” one resident stated. “We need the authorities to take action and hold the perpetrators accountable.”
Tulloch, known for his years of dedicated service in security, had transitioned into private security work and was well-respected in his community. His tragic death has left his family and friends devastated.
As investigations continue, the public is urging law enforcement officials to take swift action in identifying and prosecuting those responsible for this horrific crime.
