Jamaica Crime News, Trelawny: A security guard was fatally shot, and a woman shot and wounded, during a robbery incident which occurred along Market Street in Falmouth, Trelawny on Wednesday, March 20.
Dead is Albert Mowatt, 76-year-old security guard of a Trelawny address.
Reports are that about 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Mowatt was on duty as a security guard at a Cash Pot store located along Market Street in Falmouth, when two armed men entered the establishment.
Mowatt challenged the gunmen and during the exchange of gunfire, the elderly security guard and a female who was also at the establishment received gunshot wounds.
The gunmen then made off with the cash and the firearm belonging to the security guard.
The police were summoned and upon their arrival, Mowatt and the wounded female were rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The woman was admitted in serious but stable condition.
