A Kingston security guard was arrested and charged after he was found in possession of an illegal firearm at Price Lane in Central Kingston on Friday.
He has been identified as Andre Bascoe, who hails from Tex Lane, also in Kingston.
Reports are that at about 12:45 a.m., a team of officers was on patrol in the area when they saw Bascoe walking along the roadway.
Upon seeing the lawmen approaching, Bascoe reportedly ran and threw away a knapsack he was carrying.
The lawmen gave chase, apprehended Bascoe, and retrieved the knapsack.
A search of the bag resulted in the discovery of a Glock pistol, leading to Bascoe’s arrest.
