Sean “Diddy” Combs is set to be released from prison earlier than previously expected.
The 56-year-old music mogul, born Sean Combs, is currently serving a 50-month sentence following prostitution-related charges. According to Federal Bureau of Prisons records reviewed by E! News, his projected release date is now April 25, 2028.
Combs was originally scheduled to be freed on May 8, 2028, after being sentenced last year. That date was later adjusted to June 4, 2028, before being moved up to the newly reported April 2028 release.
The Bad Boy Records founder remains housed at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution, a low-security facility in New Jersey. He was transferred there in late October from the Metropolitan Detention Center, Brooklyn.
Shortly after his arrival at Fort Dix, rumors circulated alleging that Combs had consumed homemade alcohol. His spokesperson swiftly denied the claims.
“He has not violated any prison rules,” the representative told People in a November statement. “His sobriety and self-discipline are priorities, and he is taking them seriously.”
The spokesperson further urged the public and media to allow Combs privacy as he focuses on personal growth.
Later that month, Combs was photographed inside the facility for the first time in images published by TMZ. In the photo, the hip-hop executive appeared wearing a gray pullover and matching sweatpants, his graying hair and goatee visible as he walked down a corridor. He was seen smiling toward someone off-camera.
During his sentencing, Combs addressed the court and expressed remorse for his actions, describing his past behavior as “disgusting, shameful and sick.”
