Jamaica Sports News, Kingston: The final of the Sandals Under-19 Cricket Competition, to be contested between the Southern Sparks and the Western Heats, will take place on Saturday, July 21, at the Melbourne Cricket Club on Courtney Walsh Drive in Kingston, starting at 10 a.m.
The Sparks, coached by Burtram Barnes and Patrick Reid and captained by Ricardo McIntosh, from Clarendon College, earned their place after winning three of their five games.
The Heats also advanced, after registering three victories and two losses. The team is coached by Brenton Parchment and Robert Turner and captained by Raewin Senior of Excelsior High School.
Players selected for The National Under-19 team which departs for the Cricket West Indies Regional Age Group Tournament, from July 30 – August 30 in St. Vincent, will be presented with their Colors on Thursday, July 26, at the Jamaica Cricket Association Club lounge at Sabina Park, in a ceremony starting at 3 p.m.
On Monday (July 23) at 11 am, the Jamaican under 19 cricketers who are currently in the Sandals Academy, will journey to the Ocho Rios High School, to donate cricket gear on behalf of Sandals Resorts, to the school’s cricket team.
