Rushawn Patterson, Charged in Slickianna Murder, Shot and Killed by Police in Hanover

HANOVER, JAMAICA – Rushawn Patterson, the man charged with the 2022 murder of popular social media personality Aneka ‘Slickianna’ Townsend, was shot and killed by police in Hanover.

Details surrounding the fatal encounter remain unclear, but initial reports indicate that Patterson was involved in a confrontation with law enforcement officers when he was shot.

Patterson was on bail and was awaiting his next court appearance on October 15.

Townsend’s body was discovered in the sea off Reading, St. James, in October 2022, and Patterson was arrested weeks later. He had also faced previous allegations of sexual assault and other criminal activities.

Authorities have yet to provide an official statement on the circumstances of the shooting.
