A popular roast fish vendor, operating in the Deans Lane area of Montego Bay, St. James, fell victim to a stray bullet during a shooting incident in the second city on Wednesday night.
The 58-year-old vendor is currently hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
According to reports, shortly after 8:00 pm, the vendor was at his stall at the entrance to Deans Lane and Barrett Street when a group of armed men opened fire at another individual.
To evade the gunfire, the targeted individual ran towards Deans Lane, inadvertently causing the roast fish vendor to be struck by a stray bullet.
Police were alerted to the scene and rushed the wounded vendor to Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he received medical attention and was admitted.
