Ritchies Real Deal Fabric Store Reopens Across the Street After Devastating Falmouth Fire

FALMOUTH, Trelawny — Just days after a devastating fire destroyed its longtime premises at 15 Duke Street in Falmouth, Ritchies Real Deal Fabric Store has reopened at a new location directly across the street, ensuring customers can continue purchasing school uniform materials and other fabrics.

The store officially reopened on Saturday, July 4, with management assuring customers that despite the loss of the original building, the business remains committed to serving the community.

The reopening follows a massive blaze that swept through a section of Duke Street on Tuesday, June 30, causing extensive damage to several businesses. Among those affected were Richie’s Real Deal Fabric Store, Slots of Fun Gaming Lounge, a nightclub, and a recording studio.

According to an eyewitness, the fire broke out sometime Tuesday morning before rapidly spreading through nearby concrete and wooden structures, leaving widespread destruction in its wake.

The loss of Richie’s Real Deal Fabric Store was particularly devastating for residents of Falmouth, as the business has long been regarded as one of the parish’s most popular and affordable sources for school uniform materials and fabrics.

Management expressed heartfelt appreciation to customers and members of the public for their overwhelming support and encouragement following the disaster.

“We are grateful for the outpouring of support during this difficult time,” management said. “We are pleased to welcome our customers to our new location across the street and remain committed to providing the quality products and excellent customer service they have come to expect.”
