Los Angeles, CA – May 31, 2025 — Ronald Fenty, father of global music icon Rihanna, has died at the age of 70 in Los Angeles after battling an undisclosed illness, a source with direct knowledge confirmed to TMZ.
On Wednesday, Rihanna’s younger brother, Rajad Fenty, was seen arriving at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where Ronald passed away. While Rihanna was reportedly in the vehicle with him, she was not visible in photos taken at the scene.
Ronald shared three children with his ex-wife Monica Braithwaite — Rihanna (born Robyn Rihanna Fenty), Rajad, and Rorrey. The couple divorced in 2002, around the time Rihanna’s music career began to gain international attention.
Though Ronald and Rihanna had a turbulent relationship and were estranged for several years, they eventually reconciled. In a 2023 interview with TMZ, Ronald expressed joy over the news that Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were expecting their second child, saying he was “over the moon” and eager to be part of the baby’s life.
No official statement has yet been released by Rihanna or her representatives.
Further details regarding funeral arrangements have not been made public.
