Returning Resident Found Hanging from Mango Tree

Anchovy, St James (McN) – The police in Anchovy, St James are now carrying out investigations into the circumstances which led an elderly returning resident to take his own life by hanging in Anchovy, St James on Friday morning, April 7.

He as been identified as Wilfred Virgo, 90-years-old of Anchovy.

Reports are that about 9:00 am on Friday, a resident in the community found Virgo’s body dangling from the end of a rope which was suspended from the branch of a mango tree behind his house.

The Anchovy police were summoned and upon arrival the body of the returning resident was cut down and he was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Residents in the area say Virgo has been acting strange since is wife died over a year ago, and they believe that
loneliness and frustration drove him to committing suicide.
