Resident Disarms Gunman: An armed man who attempted to rob a male and a female at gunpoint in the Silverstone district of Greater Portmore, St. Catherine, on Monday, May 27, received the shock of his life after he was manhandled by the male victim and disarmed.

Reports from the Portmore police indicate that around 9:30 p.m., the male and female victims were seated inside a motor car parked along the roadway in Silverstone when the man approached them, brandished a handgun, and demanded their cellphones and money.

The male victim launched an attack on the armed robber and wrestled the firearm away from him, causing the gunman to flee the scene on foot.

The male and female escaped unhurt and handed over the weapon to the police. It was identified as a black and green single-action Browning 9mm pistol, fitted with a magazine containing two live 9mm rounds.
