Two Injured in Kingston Shootout: A police officer and a gunman sustained gunshot wounds during an armed confrontation in Kingston on Monday morning.
According to reports, shortly after 5:00 AM, a police officer was on patrol in the vicinity of Bay Farm Road and Waltham when he signaled the driver of a motorcycle to stop.
The pillion rider on the motorcycle opened fire at the police officer, striking him in the body. Despite being injured, the officer managed to return fire, also hitting the gunman.
Both the injured policeman and the gunman were transported to the hospital by other police officers. They were subsequently treated and admitted, with the gunman placed under police guard.
