Grammy-nominated reggae singer Lila Iké, whose given name is Alecia Gray, and her co-accused Shennelle Moore are scheduled to face trial this September in relation to a 2025 police incident in St Catherine.
The date was confirmed when both women appeared before Judge Genetta Smikle in the St Catherine Parish Court on Thursday. The matter is set for trial on September 14.
Court records indicate that the charges include disorderly conduct, indecent language, and resisting arrest. The allegations arise from an encounter with police along the Nelson Mandela Highway.
According to law enforcement reports, officers stopped a vehicle driven by Gray on July 24, 2025, after observing what they described as a breach of the Road Traffic Act. Following the stop, Gray and Moore were instructed to exit the vehicle.
Police allege that both women became loud and uncooperative during the interaction and continued the behavior after being cautioned. They were subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Central Village Police Station, where formal charges were laid.
