Providence Heights Shooting: One Man Dead, Another Injured


St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Providence Heights Shooting: The Coral Gardens police say they are now searching for two men, in connection with the shooting death of a man and the shooting and wounding of another in the Providence Heights area of Flankers in St James, on Tuesday.

Dead is  Fitzroy Smith, 23 years old, carpenter of Capture Land in Providence Heights, Flankers and a Clarendon address, while a 40-year-old man, who was also shot and injured in the same incident, is at present in hospital in serious condition.

Reports are that shortly after 8:30 am on Tuesday, Smith was in a one apartment ply dwelling house where he resides in Providence Heights, when a group of armed men kicked open the door and shot him multiple times to his upper body.

While leaving the location, the gunmen came upon the other victim who they also shot several times. The gunmen then made their escape in
the area on foot.

The police were summoned, and upon their arrival, both men were transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where Smith was pronounced dead and the other man admitted in serious condition.

The lawmen say the men who are now being sought are also believed to be from the Flankers area.
