Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Popular Chef Shot: The Negril police, in the parish of Westmoreland, are now carrying out investigations into the shooting death of a popular chef in the tourist community of Negril on Monday morning.
The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Andrew Farquharson, a chef of Namprel Road in Negril and employed to the Italian Cafe in Negril.
Reports by the Negril police are that at about 6:00am on Monday, Farquarson was riding his bicycle to work in Negril.
On reaching a section of Norman Manley Boulevard, he was approached by a man armed with a handgun, who fired several shots hitting him in the upper regions of his body.

Farquharson fell on an embankment beside a fence and died on the spot. The gunman made his escape on foot.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival, the victim was transported to the Savanna-la-mar Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
