Police Shot Gunman in Green Pond, Firearm Seized

Green Pond, St James (McKoy’s News) – Police Shot Gunman in Green Pond: A man who the police say challenged them in a shootout in St James on Wednesday morning, was fatally shot and an illegal firearm was taken from him.

The police stated that the victim is believed to be in his early twenties and has been identified as Mitchroy Grant, otherwise called “Mitch” of Golden Heights address, also in Green Pond.

Reports by the Montego Hills police are that,  about 6:00 am on Wednesday, a team of police officers armed with a search warrant, went to Grant’s house and ordered him to open the door.

Further reports are that, Grant ran from the house and brandished a firearm, which he used to fire at the lawmen.

The fire was returned, during the gunbattle, Grant was shot and wounded. A 9mm semi-automatic pistol containing several live rounds were taken from him.

The alleged gunman was rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
