A police sergeant accused of sexually assaulting a female colleague in May last year was granted bail in the sum of $500,000 when he appeared before the St Catherine Parish Court on Tuesday.
The accused, Sergeant Junior Rhule, was granted bail with one or two sureties and ordered by presiding judge, Yvette Wentworth-Miller, to return to court on July 8.
Reports indicate that Sergeant Rhule, represented by Attorney-at-law Peter Champagne, allegedly approached the female officer and touched her inappropriately.
A report was made to his superiors, and following an investigation, he was charged earlier this week with indecent assault.
