The Lucea police in Hanover have arrested and charged a man who was found in possession of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition in Johnson Town district on Saturday morning. He has been charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition.
The accused has been identified as Alex Kerr, otherwise called ‘Bobby,’ of Church Lincoln in Grange Hill, Westmoreland.
Reports indicate that around 11:30 AM, a team of police officers on patrol in Johnson Town observed Kerr walking along the roadway.
Upon seeing the police, Kerr began to act suspiciously. He was accosted, and a Tommy Hilfiger bag, which he had around his neck, was removed and searched.
The bag was found to contain a black 9mm semi-automatic pistol fitted with a magazine holding fifteen 9mm rounds.
Kerr was taken into custody and subsequently charged.
