The St Andrew police say they are now asking members of the public for their assistance to identified a was fatally shot after he reportedly challenged members of the police party in a shootout, which occurred along the intersection of Hill and Henderson Avenue in St Andrew, on Wednesday, February 20.

Reports by the police are that shortly after 10:30 p.m., a team of officers were on patrol in the area when they saw the accused man acting in a suspicious manner.

On seeing the lawmen approaching the man brandished a handgun, and opened fire. The fire was returned and the gunman was shot and killed.

A Bryco Jennings 9-mm semi-automatic pistol was taken from the gunman.
