MAN CHARGED FOR CHOPPING DEATH OF OTHER MAN ALLEGEDLY CAUGHT STEALING ON FARM

MCKOY’S NEWS has been informed that a man who was taken into custody by the Morant Bay police for the chopping death of another man in Mount District, St Thomas, on Wednesday, February 20, has been officially charged with murder.

A police source told our news team that they are unable to release the name of the accused, who is a farmer of the community.

Reports by the Morant Bay police are that about 9:30 a.m., on Wednesday the unidentified man was reported caught stealing crop from a farm in the community.

He was accosted by the accused and during the confrontation, a heated argument started between the two.

A machete was brought into play which was used by the accused to inflict multiple chop wounds to the deceased upper body.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival, the wounded man was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, and the accused farmer was taken into custody.
