Police Seek Three in Connection with Gunshot Victim Left at Kingston Hospital

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 26-year-old Joel Saunders, whose body was discovered at the Kingston Public Hospital early Wednesday morning. The deceased, who resided at Mandela Terrace, Kingston 11, was reportedly brought to the hospital in a white Toyota Vitz around 2:47 a.m. and left there by unidentified individuals.

Upon examination, medical staff discovered multiple gunshot wounds to Saunders’ back. He was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. The police have not yet determined where or how Saunders sustained his injuries, and the circumstances leading up to his death remain unclear.

A woman claiming to be Saunders’ mother identified the body at the hospital and confirmed that they both lived at the same address in Mandela Terrace.

In connection with the case, the police have listed three individuals as persons of interest: Rene Dillon, Ackeem Campbell, and Susan Lewis, all of whom are also from Mandela Terrace. Authorities are urging Dillon, Campbell, and Lewis to report to the Denham Town Police Station by 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 2, 2024.
