St James, Jamaica: Gay Man Found on Whitehouse Beach – The Coral Gardens police in St James have identified the man found dead along the beach in the Whitehouse community on Sunday morning.
The deceased, known to be openly gay, has been identified as 31-year-old Romaine Spencer from Farm Heights in St James.
Reports indicate that around 9:00 a.m., a group of people heading out to fish discovered Spencer’s body lying face down in the sand in a pool of blood.
They alerted the police, who arrived and found that Spencer had multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body and appeared to have been beaten.
The scene was processed, and the body was removed to the morgue for a post-mortem examination.
Investigators revealed that Spencer, who openly identified as gay on his Facebook page and expressed interest in finding a gay partner, was lured to the location and killed by men posing as potential partners.
