Jamaica Crime News, Montego Bay: A team of investigators attached to the Freeport Police CIB Department in Montego Bay, St James, say they have now launched a manhunt for an alleged con-man, who goes around and portray to be an American visitor, but is really the alleged mastermind behind a car stealing ring which is operating out of Spanish Town and St James.

One investigator pointed out that during the month of October, they have had numerous reports involving the accused who frequents  Montego Bay, posing as an American visitor.

The alleged con-man is accused of renting several high-end  motor vehicle with the use of an American drivers license and then disappear.

One investigator pointed out that intelligence have led them to believe that the alleged con-man, who is using the name Raheem Jarrett, hails from Spanish Town in St Catherine, but roams the resort areas of Montego Bay, using an American identification card, with a 895 Kings Way, Wisconsin address.

Two of his most recent victims fell prey to the motor vehicle robber just days apart in the recent weeks.

One of the vehicle, a 2012 Toyota Allion, registered 0757 HQ,  was rented from its owner at the Hard Rock Cafe in Freeport on October 11, 2018, while the other, a 2012 Toyota Axio, registered 1044 HS,  was rented from its owner on October 14, who met up with him on the compound of the Big Apple guest house, located along Queens Drive, both in Montego Bay.

Investigators say the accused is very cunning and easily cons his victims, by visiting the popular tourist areas around Montego Bay and poses as an American visitor who wanted a motor car to rent only for a few days.

The police say they are now asking members of the public who may have been a victim to this motor vehicle robber, or can assist in his apprehension to immediately contact the Freeport Police Station at 684-9080-5.
