Jamaica News, March 4, 2018 – Sav-la-Mar Liquor Store Robber
Westmoreland, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – A man was shot and killed by members of a police patrol in the parish of Westmoreland minutes after he reportedly held up and robbed a liquor store in Savanna la Mar.
The deceased has been identified as Errol Cunningham otherwise called (Mc Crief), 28-year-old, of New Market Oval also in Savanna la Mar.
Reports by the Savanna la Mar police are that shortly after 1:30 p.m., on Saturday afternoon, March 3, the police received reports that a robbery was in process at the One Stop Liquor Store, located along 7 Great Georges Street in downtown Savanna la Mar, Westmoreland.
The police rushed to the location and upon arrival they saw Cunningham running from a section of the liquor store with a gun in his hand. Upon seeing the police the accused reportedly pointed the firearm in the directions of the police and fired at them.
The fire was returned and Cunningham was shot and injured.
A firearm was recovered from the wounded man and he was later transported to the Savanna la Mar hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A team from the Independent Commission of Investigation is now carrying out investigation surrounding this latest fatal shooting.
