Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Police Kill Gunman: A man who was caught in possession of three illegal firearms outside a night Club in St James on Wednesday morning was shot and killed by the police. He has been identified as Oshane Gray of a Johns Hall address.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, a team of officers were carrying out routine patrols at a section of Spring Mount, when on reaching a section of Johns Hall known as Dam Road, they saw a group of men outside a club and stopped. The lawmen indicated to the men that they wanted to carry out a search when one of the men (Oshane Gray) brandished a handgun and pointed it at the lawmen.
The police took evasive action and opened fire hitting the armed man. He fell to the ground and the lawmen recovered a .38 semiautomatic pistol loaded with several rounds. The police then carried out a search of his person which led to the discovery of two other illegal firearms. The lawmen further indicated that the other two weapons were Versar 9mm semiautomatic pistols one with serial number erased and loaded with seven live 9mm rounds and the other loaded with five live 9mm rounds.
The wounded gunman was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
