Law enforcement authorities in St Catherine have launched an investigation following the discovery of a man’s partially decomposed body in a canal near the community of Hartlands, off Old Harbour Road.
According to police reports, the grim find was made shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Monday when passers-by noticed the body in the waterway and alerted authorities.
Officers responded to the scene and confirmed that the body was partially submerged in the canal. The area was processed as part of standard investigative procedures before the remains were removed.
A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out to determine the cause of death. Investigations are ongoing.
