An eleven-year-old girl is at the center of a police investigation in St. Catherine after she was abducted and sexually assaulted on Thursday morning.
Reports indicate that around 1 a.m., the child was forcibly removed from her home at knifepoint. She was subsequently sexually assaulted before being released.
After her release, the young girl bravely shared her terrifying experience with her relatives, who then reported the incident to the authorities.
The case has been handed over to the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA), which is now leading the investigation.
Details regarding potential suspects or motives have not yet been released by the authorities. CISOCA is urging anyone with information that could aid the investigation to come forward.
