Police in Manchester are investigating a suspected hit-and-run collision that claimed the life of a man along the Chudleigh main road early Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Mark Sinclair, a welder from the Struan district in the parish.
According to a police report, the incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. when Sinclair was walking along the roadway and was struck by a motor vehicle. The driver reportedly did not stop at the scene and fled shortly after the impact.
Investigators from the Manchester Traffic Department, along with the Area Three Accident Investigation and Reconstruction Unit, have been assigned to the case as inquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
