St Andrew, Jamaica: August Town killings – Police have increased operations in August Town, St Andrew, following the killing of a second brother within days, as investigators continue their search for a man known as “Chucky.”
Lawmen have identified the wanted man as Oshane Morris, otherwise called “Chucky,” who is believed to be linked to ongoing violence in the community.
Reports indicate that the latest killing occurred early Saturday morning along August Town Road. Residents reportedly alerted the police after a fire was seen at a premises in the area.
Upon arrival, officers allegedly discovered the body of a man with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the head. Police also reported that the body showed signs of being partially burned.
Authorities have not yet officially identified the deceased. However, reports suggest that the victim and another brother who was recently killed are relatives of reggae entertainer Etana.
The singer later reacted publicly to the violence affecting her family and the wider August Town community.
Senior Superintendent Mark Harris, who heads the St Andrew Central Police Division, said investigators believe the attacks may be connected to gang-related activities in the area.
Police say operations have been intensified under ongoing security measures, including the Zone of Special Operations (ZOSO), as efforts continue to locate “Chucky.”
The August Town killings remain under investigation.
