ST THOMAS, Jamaica — Police in St Thomas have launched a major investigation following the discovery of a severed head in the parish on Friday morning.
Reports are that around 9:15 a.m., a fisherman noticed a bag in an area known as Peggy Mouth in Friendship Pen. Upon checking the bag, he reportedly found the head of an adult male inside.
The matter was immediately reported to the police, who swiftly launched a search of the surrounding area. However, up to press time, the body of the man had not been located.
Investigators from the Morant Bay Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are now probing the gruesome discovery as efforts continue to identify the victim and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Residents have expressed shock and concern as the investigation continues.
