Jamaica News, March 4, 2018 – Police Impersonators Killed St James Man

St James, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – A St James man was shot and killed by two men posing as police officers who came to his home in Spring Mount, St James on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Detriot Johnson, 37-years-old of the Cool Water Spring community, also in the Spring Mount district, in the parish of St James.

Reports by the police are that at about 1:30 a.m., on Saturday, March 3, Johnson was at his home in bed with other family members when they heard loud banging sounds on the main door of the house, along with persons on the outside identifying themselves as police officers, ordering the occupants to open the door.

A family member immediately opened the door.

Two men dressed in blue Denham entered the house and walked to Johnson’s room. The men then opened fire hitting Johnson all over his body before leaving the house.

The Spring Mount police were summoned and upon arrival the wounded man was transported to the Cornwall Regional hospital where he was pronounced dead.
