The St. James police have launched a manhunt for a 24-year-old man known as ‘Bun-Up’, who allegedly hijacked a taxi and raped a female passenger at gunpoint on Friday, May 3, in Rose Heights, St. James.
Reports indicate that around 3:30 pm, the accused, ‘Bun-Up’, was among the passengers in a taxi traveling along the Rose Heights main road. He then reportedly brandished a handgun, threatening the occupants.
‘Bun-Up’ ordered all passengers out of the vehicle except one female passenger, whom he then drove to an isolated location and sexually assaulted.
The victim managed to escape and immediately contacted the Mount Salem police. A manhunt has since been launched to apprehend the suspect.
