A policeman is currently hospitalized with multiple injuries after being struck by a motorist during a traffic stop on Old Hope Road in St Andrew on Thursday. The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. during a traffic enforcement operation.
According to reports, the motorist who had been stopped for an observed traffic violation, reportedly resisted the cop’s use of body-worn cameras. In the ensuing altercation, the driver allegedly grabbed the officer before speeding off, hitting and running over the policeman. The injured officer was quickly transported to the hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
The police are actively searching for the driver involved.
