The St. Thomas police have confirmed the arrest of a police constable and another man, identified as an ex-police officer, following an incident where they attempted to extort over $2 million in cash from a businessman in the parish on Saturday.
Reports indicate that both accused allegedly asked the businessman to pay them $2.2 million in cash.
The businessman reported the matter to the authorities, and the officer and the ex-policeman were both taken into custody during an operation in the Golden Grove community.
