PNP Turns Montego Bay Orange Ahead of September 3 General Election

ST JAMES, Jamaica — Just one week after Sam Sharpe Square in Montego Bay was awash in green for the Jamaica Labour Party’s mass rally, the historic square has now turned orange.

In less than an hour, the People’s National Party (PNP) is expected to host what is being billed as its final mass rally before Jamaicans head to the polls on September 3.

The event is expected to draw a large turnout of party supporters and will feature a keynote address from PNP President Mark Golding. Also slated to speak are former party president Dr Peter Phillips, along with Julian Robinson, Dr Alfred Dawes, and several PNP candidates representing constituencies across western Jamaica.

The rally comes at a critical point in the campaign, as both major political parties seek to solidify voter support in what is shaping up to be a closely watched General Election.
