A St. James man accused of destroying his father’s welding hose and assaulting another family member following a dispute over $1,000 is to undergo psychiatric evaluation.
Keno Brown made a brief appearance in the St. James Parish Court on Wednesday.
The date of the incident was not revealed, but according to court records, Brown got into an argument with his father over $1,000, during which he cut up his father’s welding hose.
He then threw a stone at another family member, hitting her.
During Wednesday’s hearing, Her Honour Sasha Smith-Ashley ordered a psychiatric evaluation for the accused man and remanded him in custody until July 29.
