Jamaica News, February 26, 2018 – Petrice Porteous Found Dead
Hanover, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Up to 9:00 am on Monday morning, the police along with family and community members of Mount Peace District in the parish of Hanover were still working carefully to exhume the body of the missing young mother which was discovered in a shallow grave in the area on Sunday afternoon, February 25.
It is also reported that pieces of clothing and shoes were what they used to identify the body of Petrice Porteous, otherwise called “Little One”, a 20-year-old mother of Mount Peace District who went missing from home on February 12.
The Lucea police have reported that Petrice resided in Mount Peace with her father and her 3-year-old daughter.
Our news team caught up with Adolphus Porteous, father of the deceased who stated that he last saw her on January 27, when she left home to spend time with her twin sister who is living in Montego Bay.
According to the father, Petrice worked at an establishment in Sandy Bay, Hanover, so she left her sister’s house and was going to work.
She was last seen alive on February 12 in Hanover allegedly on her way home, but, while on her way back home she disappeared without a trace.
Several reports of her disappearance were made to the police and also several searches were carried out over the past week to locate her, they all went unsuccessful.
On Sunday about 3:45 p.m., residents who were searching, saw dogs fighting over what appeared to be a shallow grave in bushes at a section of the area known as Kew Top.

The police were alerted and upon arrival, the shallow grave was uprooted and it resulted in the gruesome discovery of Petrice’s decomposed body.

One officer stated that it would appear that she was murdered elsewhere and buried at that location, also a black substance which resembled engine oil was thrown on the body by her killers obviously to keep down the scent.
It also appeared that she was set on fire, as sections of her body had burnt marks and her eyes were missing.
